History
Well-known for 85 years, Mengès Industrie specializes in contract work in the fields of sheet metal work, mechanized welding and surface treatment.
1924: Georges Menges created the sheet metal work business at Cravanche (in the Territory of Belfort). The company’s workforce quickly rose to 50.
1940-1968: As a good father should, Leon Muller succeeded in keeping the business going in spite of the difficult conditions caused by the German occupation of the factory. He developed and secured the loyalty of a network of local and international clients.
1968-1984: Having working in Mengès’s establishment since 1932, Fernand Rigo took over as managing director in 1968 and embodied the 1st generation.
“ALSTHOM Turbines à Gaz” entrusted the company with the manufacture of machine silencers and enclosures from 1969.
1984-1990 (the 2nd generation boom): The gas turbine assembly business expanded quickly under the impetus of the new management team: Alain Priser, Marie-Christine Rigo, and Michel Rigo.
1990: Alain Priser became Chairman & Managing Director. The clientele began to diversify as new buildings were built and complementary activities such as thermal treatment and high-definition plasma cutting were taken on. With its modern facilities, the company participated in the construction of frames and large gas turbine exhaust assemblies.
The company continued to modernize and win new and increasingly diverse contracts.
